Cake Stands

Cake stands were introduced to the Blue Jelly Moon range, as occasionally I did not have the heart to break up beautiful unblemished china. I was in search of a way to help bring these beautiful items back into prominent display and into the modern world. After enjoying a visit to a friend's tea shop and having taken some of my mosaics, I was asked if I could make cake stands. It wasn't something I had considered, so did some research, bought a ceramic drill bit, borrowed my husband's drill and a few broken plates later, a stock of cake stands were ready.

My all time favourites are the ones made from a side plate, saucer and cup. This cute combination has a variety of uses from a centre piece for any afternoon tea table to holding nicnaks on your dressing table. What a unique and different present!

The very English tradition of afternoon tea, seems to be currently enjoying a revival and many of my beautiful cake stands are regularly in use in several local tea rooms, as well as much further a field.

Most stands are made to order depending on style and stock availability. However there are occasionally stands available for sale and these are identified below with either a price and/or details if there are several available within the set. However, please contact us if you have some china you would like making into stands or have a particular requirement.

Sometimes I am lucky enough to rescue a whole or part china set, rather than just individual pieces.
